I dont have a huge online profile, I don't tend to put myself out there so much, but I figured this one time I might add some detail for my old friend.

The Song 'Six Months in a Leaky Boat' came out in New Zealand in 1982. I was nine at the time and can't really remember it, it always was around, as you do, I think you draw stuff from your personal experience and then overlay the music to fit. The songs about, well I've always interpreted it to be about living in New Zealand and adventuring towards the rest of the world, which I have applied in a sense to my blogging. Its not really reflective of my full musical tastes. Joy Division and some of the other tracks mentioned would be more of my thing, was always my thing but since my son was diagnosed with a terminal illness Im not really into listening to music thats too emotive or down (The Eternal, thinking about it makes me shake) because it tends to take me to a place and thats not a great thing. However I think that music as a force and as a positive force does make a difference. Sorry if this has ended up a bit deep Will. It's the song I turn to when things aren't working out quite the way I want them to work out. It's the song that helps remind me that for the most part, things tend to work out in life, in my life it sometimes it just takes a little longer than I would like it to take. More and more I understand that "Taking the Long Way," just makes you grow that much more as a person. It makes you appreciate where you are and who you are as a person that much more. I am most certainly feeling that way with my new job I am starting this fall. So looking forward to it! Thanks for letting me be a part of this, what a great idea!KoryGrahamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05348949565833478634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3967931278782753277.post-38144941605030336912015-06-17T00:06:29.911-05:002015-06-17T00:06:29.911-05:00I want to add Raw Power by The Stooges. Since #EdCampMagic, I've been on the #MyDisneyClass bandwagon and loving the ride! I read recently that this song was considered by most Disney historians to be Walt Disney's favorite song. To say it was Disney's favorite speaks volumes to me! That alone gave me such insight into his character! "The song nails the theme of the picture [Mary Poppins]. It doesn’t take much to do an act of kindness…in this case a tuppence, just a penny or two. Those small things, the little acts…make all the difference." - @DixonOnDisney I truly believe kindness matters, and I can really relate to Disney's affection of "Feed The Birds." Read more about why "Walt Disney Loved The Song" here http://www.keytothekingdombook.com/wordpress/2012/02/walt-disney-loved-the-song/ I hope everyone listens to this song, and commits to doing one act of kindness in their day! Maybe even "feed the birds." Its one of the songs, if not the only song, by REM that it not sung by Michael Stipe. And no, I am not suggesting it be added because it is some novelty - the lyrics are fantastics, the concepts an ideas are admirable, and the message is the kind of reminder we need to hear in our daily lives, well, daily. It also helps that the song is, you know, catchy. I'm hoping that it becomes one of those timeless pieces, and I'm raising my own kids listening to it in the hopes that my grandkids will hear it often, too - for the quality of the song, its appropriateness as a reflection of this era, and the importance of the message.artlaflammehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00836057645156514707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3967931278782753277.post-88845249397538826752015-06-16T21:27:30.342-05:002015-06-16T21:27:30.342-05:00Thanks for the add, this isn't the first expli...Thanks for the add, this isn't the first explicit song in the list. The way people discount kids because they are kids. The way people discount a single teacher's voice because they are "that crazy teacher." I get mad at myself even. To me anger pushes action more than sadness does.

Lastly I love the lines "I might be an adult, but I'm a minor at heart."
